With the move from www.op.org/stmarys to our new home
here at dominican-sisters.net/stmarys
... we have lost the compact Guestbook format you see in the entries below.
What can I say? There were other pressing reasons, but about this, I am
really sorry. The good news, we can approve entries before posting, and avoid
some embarrassment.

get back in touch with St. Mary's Dominican family and friends. I still
recognize so many familiar names; putting a face to those names, however,
hasn't been that easy! Good to be in touch again. Will pass this on to Mary

later (yikes! Class of 82) I can still tell her that the Normandy invasion
occurred in 1066! 1066! 1066! I am sure a group of Freshmen were never so
impressed upon! Please create a website for the high school!

- Well, I was looking for a connection to my alma mater, and I'm glad I
found one. I only wish there was a direct website for St.Mary's Dominican
High School. There used to be one, but it was only up for a short time.
Please create one.
I have always valued my Dominican education. The things I learned there
have stuck with me, giving me that extra edge that no one else here at
Southwest Texas State U. possesses. The tough curriculum at DHS definitely
made my first year of college seem easy in comparison.
Sr. M. Dominic Savio, I wasn't in any of your classes at DHS, but I do
remember you. DHS wouldn't have been the same without you. You interviewed
my sister for admission; she was scared to death, but you made her feel
more comfortable. Thanks, Sister, for all you have done for the Dominican
students.

- Totally Disorganized On 8/4/99 at 10:38 AM.
What a well-organized and comprehensive web-site! I enjoyed learning so
much stuff about the Dominicans, here in New Orleans and around the world
(via other guest book entries). I even learned more about the Doskey family
- I didn't know that my mother-in-law and father-in-law visited the convent
in their wedding garb. Nor did I know that Sr. Betty was
"introduced" to the nuns at such an early age. They must have made
QUITE an impression on her since she just celebrated her Golden Jubilee as a
Dominican nun.
Congratulations to all of you for jobs well done. And your work is
undoubtedly more important in today's secular world than it has ever been
before. May God continue to give you the grace and the stamina to carry on.

- Does this bring back memories or what!!! Sr. Savio was teaching English
way back then?!?! I feel so old now! *grins* and I'm only 21! Thanks, Sr.
Dorothy for directing me here. Keep up the great work! Oh, and if Sr. Savio
sees this...tell her to go see Shakespeare in Love. I remember English
class with her, reading Shakespeare. I was so upset that our class didn't
read Romeo and Juliet, I read it by myself. But, oh how I hated Julius
Caesar!!!! She started my love for William Shakespeare! And if Srs. Hillary
and Hildegarde see this....HI!!!!! *WAVES* I miss you!
